I'm building a computer for my friend and I told newegg that I must have the parts as soon as possible, I ordered it 2 days ago... The nice person on the phone upped my shipping to overnight for no additional cost. It is really refreshing to see customer service like that. I will be ordering from Newegg all the time. Check them out here.
No, no one sent it to me... I'm getting a Compaq E500 when I got to college, I'll be putting it through its paces... By the way, I'll be at college on Sunday.
I'll be adding some details to the user pages, and I'll be creating a new page that you can search for a user by ID or by name or email. I'm taking suggestions on the new fields in the database. I'm thinking like 3Dmark2001 Scores and that sort of thing.
I saw a good review over at ViaHardware, here is a blurb:
The VIA Apollo P4X266 chipset, although far from revolutionary, provides the market exactly what its been begging for: an affordable, high performance Pentium 4 platform. Debuting at around $25, the P4X266 is considerably cheaper then even the anemic i845 at $40. As the first non-Intel chipset for Pentium 4, the P4X266 represents a great step for VIA as the worlds #1 chipset design house. Even Intel's processor division must be secretly delighted at the avenues P4X266 offers for OEM's and end users looking to transfer over to Pentium 4 platforms. Found here.
I hope to get some P4s and some new Paliminos for review, but I can only hope so much.
I saw on Anadtech that they have a preview of the Radeon 2 cards. Here is a blurb:
The next statement I'm about to make has been true for most of ATI's cards and it is that the Radeon 8500 has a lot of potential. As usual, that potential is contingent on solid drivers which ATI has not been famous for in the past but they have been improving over time. There is no doubt that the Radeon 8500's architecture and technology is sufficient to allow it to become a GeForce3 killer, however whether or not its drivers will allow it to is another question. Found here.
We'll see how it turns out. Maybe ATI will get some better performing Win2k drivers for their present cards.
I'm building a system for my friend. He is letting me play with it for a day before I give it to him. I'll be testing the 1.4GHZ Athlon and the Epox 8KHA Motherboard based on the KT266 chipset.
Well, for now the email is being fowarded to my @home account, but it is the same thing. Only [email protected] works at the time being. The new server should be coming very soon!!
There is a big storm that cut the power here. I was out while it happened and I didn't know that the computer restarted. That is why the site was down if you are wondering .
You can now access my site under ASELabs.com. It is still running off my cable modem until my hosting service gets a new server up, should be soon. So, if the site is slow, that's why.
While it isn't something will protect your computer from the die hard crooks, it will protect it from people that want to just pick it up and go... Check it out here.
I have been thinking that when I got to college that some people may try to steal my computer, hey I'm a bit paranoid! Anyway, I have been making a very light security feature for my computer that will make it harder for people to steal it. I'll have the article up very soon.
So, I couldn't find any pretty program to make charts or anything and I'm sure I did all the benchmarks wrong, but I wrote my KK266 review!! You can check it out here.
I'm getting 2847 3Dmarks in 2001. And I'm using an 800 Duron (6x133) with a Geforce 2 GTS. I don't know if that's normal, but it seems pretty fast to me. If anyone thinks this is abnormal, please tell me. I'm testing my KK266 still.
Wow, my first motherboard review!! It is very very close to being completed... I have no graphic program to make those pretty graphs that everyone makes though . I'll get one by tomorrow. I should have the review up by the end of tomorrow. I promise .
Ohh yes, I'm having loads of problems with my KK266 review. I want to run my 800MHZ Duron at 6x133mhz, but because there is no jumpers for multiplyer, the setting 8x133 is being taken for a split second, and that is just too long... Anyone got a cheap cpu that I can run at 133mhz FSB no problems? or a great heatsink? I'm very low on cash now. Thanks for your help.
I have been thinking of stuff, mainly why I haven't gotten around to finishing the KK266 review... anyway, please don't send emails to aselabs.com yet as it will not reach me at all. Instead for the time being use [email protected]
I've got the search pages all done! Now, I've got to finish the KK266 review. I know, I'm late to everything Iwill has already released the KK266Plus and I saw a great review on SocketA. They run a great site and I hope everyone checks it out.
I stayed up, well I was watching TV, and I made the option to show your email address or not. Anyway, I set the default to no, so everyone that registered already won't have their email being showed as of now. You must all change your details if you want to show your email. You can change them here. Thanks for your time.
I have been thinking it would be a good thing if I added a field to allow email address to be shown on editorials and news. When I implement this, I'll set it to "NO". If you want your email address to be shown in your submitted news and editorials, just set it to yes. I'll be sure to let everyone know when I get it working.
